Two Thieves Podcast

The Two Thieves Podcast will focus on extolling God's mercies, examining scripture, and looking through the lens of a Christian Worldview. We will dialogue on current events, both inside and outside the Church, as well as reviewing other articles, videos, and publications. Like the whole of scripture, this podcast is first and foremost about God, not about man.

There is a grave danger in blindly accepting any thought, action, or teaching with the name Jesus attached to it without testing it according to the scriptures.  1 John 4:1 urges Christians, "...do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world."  This week we came across a video of a hyper charismatic church service littered with abuses of scripture and prophetic gifts.  We put this video to the test of scripture, not to divide the church but to bring to light widespread false teaching in many church circles.  For we know that only truth, revealed in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, can truly unite God's church.  As always, thank you for listening!

Amidst weeks filled with turmoil, divisiveness, and hatred, many Americans have been asking, "How can a good God allow such evil?"  Whether it be the shooting in Orlando, the killing of cops in Dallas, or the death of citizens at the hands of police officers, our human nature causes us to question the sovereignty of God in these circumstances.  While questioning the right of God's will is never acceptable, Christians should constantly seek to understand His ways through scripture.  So, why does a good God allow evil?  And what purpose does it serve?  Join us this week as we dive in to the bible and discuss these issues that have never been more relevant.  As always, thank you all for listening!!

This week, controversy ensued when a community church body offered tattoos and beer as a fundraiser for a new church plant. As hotly debated topics in contemporary Christian culture, where should we stand on these issues?  Is it ok for a Christian to get a tattoo?  And what about drinking alcohol?  Where do we draw the line between legalism and outright sin?  Join us this week as we discuss and debate. Thanks for listening and let us know what you think!
