There is a grave danger in blindly accepting any thought, action, or teaching with the name Jesus attached to it without testing it according to the scriptures. 1 John 4:1 urges Christians, "...do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world." This week we came across a video of a hyper charismatic church service littered with abuses of scripture and prophetic gifts. We put this video to the test of scripture, not to divide the church but to bring to light widespread false teaching in many church circles. For we know that only truth, revealed in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, can truly unite God's church. As always, thank you for listening!
Amidst weeks filled with turmoil, divisiveness, and hatred, many Americans have been asking, "How can a good God allow such evil?" Whether it be the shooting in Orlando, the killing of cops in Dallas, or the death of citizens at the hands of police officers, our human nature causes us to question the sovereignty of God in these circumstances. While questioning the right of God's will is never acceptable, Christians should constantly seek to understand His ways through scripture. So, why does a good God allow evil? And what purpose does it serve? Join us this week as we dive in to the bible and discuss these issues that have never been more relevant. As always, thank you all for listening!!
